NÓN LÁ — Incense & Jewelry Box

Some objects carry more than a function. They carry memories. The NÓN LÁ Incense & Jewelry Box began with one of Vietnam's most recognizable silhouettes: the traditional conical hat. Rather than copying its form, we explored its proportions, lightness, and quiet elegance, translating them into an everyday object designed to be lived with. The lid is hand-cast in bronze by skilled artisans in Hoi An, then patiently drilled to create a delicate pattern that allows incense smoke to rise while keeping the ashes hidden inside. The base is wrapped in natural cinnamon bark, bringing warmth, texture, and a subtle fragrance that complements the bronze beautifully. Open the lid, and the piece transforms into a small box for jewelry, keepsakes, or objects collected over time. Designed in our Hanoi studio and crafted entirely in Vietnam, this is our way of celebrating local materials, traditional craftsmanship, and contemporary design—bringing heritage into everyday rituals with honesty and simplicity.
